Job Summary
A SIGN -ON BONUS OF $7500 IS AVAILABLE FOR THE SUCCESSFUL APPLICANT OF THIS POSITION PAID IN 2 INSTALLMENTS WITHIN TWELVE (12) MONTHS OF HIRE : $3750 WITHIN 30 DAYS OF HIRE DATE & $3750 12- MONTHS AFTER HIRE DATE . The Instrumentation & Controls (I&C) and Programming Superintendent serves as a member of the Cogen Systems Management Team and is the subject matter expert for instrumentation controls automation SCADA programming and system operations across central campus. This leadership role oversees daily operations monitoring alarming and optimization of the steam distribution metering system the Steam and Cogeneration Plants Emerson Ovation Distributed Control System Key responsibilities include supervision performance management operations oversight controls programming and change management instrumentation calibration and maintenance water-side/air-side optimization in coordination with plant production and distribution teams budget planning regulatory compliance contractor oversight and customer service. The Superintendent position ensures safe reliable and efficient system performance while advancing automation and data integrity to support campus comfort cooling process cooling and dehumidification needs.
Required Qualifications Competencies And Experience
Mechanical Electrical or Control Systems Engineering or equivalent combination of education and experience. 5 years of experience in Cogeneration Systems Steam Distribution and/or industrial plant operations. Expertise in instrumentation controls and automation programming ( PLC SCADA DCS ). Strong leadership and supervisory experience in recruitment and training including formal performance management implementation. Excellent problem-solving communication and organizational skills. Commitment to sustainability and energy efficiency.
Preferred Qualifications Competencies And Experience
In addition to an office environment and required computer work this position will work in varying environmental conditions for various lengths of time depending on the operational requirements for the facility/systems. This position may be required to enter confined spaces or hazardous environments with the appropriate PPE in accordance with established procedures. Experience in large-scale campus or district energy systems. Familiarity with Emerson Ovation DCS CEMS and VTScada. Knowledge of Cogeneration Systems Steam Systems Steam Driven Turbine Systems and Black Start Emergency Generation Systems. Familiarity with computerized maintenance management systems ( CMMS ) preferably MAXIMO .
