A Day in the Life

Digital Surgeryis developingnewproductsto provide real-time guidance and decision support inside the operating room. As aSoftware Engineer workingon thereal-time video processing teamyoullbehelping to develop high-performance video and AI processing pipelines for use in the operating for someoneexperiencedwithreal-time video manipulation andparallel processingwho is comfortable working ina multidisciplinaryteam.

Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned:

• Leverage hardware acceleration to develop high-performance low-latency video capture processing AI inferencevisualizationand streaming software.
• Design implement andoptimisevideo processing pipelines running on computing systems deployed in the operating room.
• Work as part of a multidisciplinary team to develop robust andsafe-by-design software for a medical device.
• Maintaina high levelof quality and reliability insubmittedcode andparticipatein team code reviews.

Required Knowledge and Experience:

• Excellent C development& debuggingskills with C17-23 multi-threading inter-processcommunicationand performanceoptimisation.
• Excellent knowledge of software design principles and C design patterns.
• Experience withreal time video pipelines.
• Experience with NVIDIA NPP Intel MKL BLAS libraries is a plus.
• Experience developing or implementing real-time image processing algorithms using hardware acceleration is preferred.
• Ability to write clearmaintainableand well-documented code.
• Capability to work independently driving development from concept to production.
• Strong communicationskills.

Preferred skills include experience with medical-grade quality processes ensuring compliance with strict regulatory and safety standards along with a solid understanding of video compression and coding technologies such as H.264 H.265 and VP9. Additionally a strong working knowledge of Linux is highly valued supporting efficient system development troubleshooting and deployment.
