Senior Project Manager Aerospace

We are seeking a Senior Project Manager to join a growing engineering organisation within the aerospace sector.

This is a high-impact role where you will support the Project Chief Engineer (PCE) in delivering complex development programmes ensuring performance cost quality and schedule objectives are achieved in line with structured engineering processes (including APQP).

As a Senior Project Manager you will take ownership of delivering engineering programmes end-to-end acting as a key interface between internal teams and the customer.

You will lead cross-functional Integrated Programme Teams (IPTs) across international sites (UK France US) ensuring alignment between technical delivery and commercial targets.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead the delivery of development programmes across the full lifecycle
• Ensure projects meet cost schedule and quality targets
• Support and deputise for the Project Chief Engineer (PCE) where required
• Act as a primary interface with customers and key stakeholders
• Drive collaboration across multi-site engineering teams (UK France US)
• Manage risks issues and programme performance reporting
• Ensure alignment with structured development processes and APQP standards

Qualifications :

Required Skills:

• Proven experience as a Senior Project Manager within aerospace defence or complex engineering environments
• Strong understanding of engineering development lifecycles
• Experience delivering programmes involving electrical systems avionics or embedded systems
• Ability to operate in a customer-facing stakeholder-heavy environment
• Experience leading cross-functional / international teams
• Familiarity with APQP gated development processes or similar frameworks

Required Qualifications:

• A Bachelors or Masters degree in Engineering or equivalent military experience.

Desirable Skills:

• Background supporting or working alongside Chief Engineers / Technical Authorities
• Experience within aerospace OEMs or Tier 1 suppliers
• Knowledge of safety-critical standards (e.g. DO-178 DO-254)
