Job Description

Monitoring Engineer to oversee and manage the structural and geotechnical monitoring aspects ofconstruction project. The role involves conducting real-time monitoring data analysis and reporting toensure the stability safety and compliance of construction activities.

Implementation of monitoring plans for structures ground conditions factors duringconstruction.
Supervise the installation and maintenance monitoring instruments such as inclinometersstrain gauges piezometers etc.
Identify potential risks related to ground settlement structural deformations and proposemitigation measures.
Prepare monitoring reports technical assessments and data visualization dashboards forproject stakeholders.
Ensure compliance with industry regulations safety guidelines and contractual requirementsrelated to monitoring activities.
Coordinate with geotechnical engineer lead and structural engineers to interpret monitoringresults and adjust project plans as needed.
Support risk management and early warning systems ensuring proactive measures to mitigatepotential construction risks.
Perform site inspections and audits to verify proper implementation of monitoring systems andadherence to monitoring protocols.
Utilize software tools for data analysis including GIS-based platforms and real-time dataprocessing applications.

Ensure proper documentation and archiving of monitoring data for future reference andregulatory compliance.

Work Conditions:

Office-based with frequent site visits to supervise the installation and the implementation ofmonitoring plan.
Full-time with potential for night shifts or weekend work depending on project requirements.

Required Skills and Competencies

A Bachelors degree in Civil Engineering Geotechnical Engineering Structural EngineeringEnvironmental Engineering or a related field is required.
Engineer () designation is not required but is considered an asset.
5 years of experience in monitoring engineering preferably in infrastructure tunnelingrailway metro or large-scale construction projects.
Alternative backgrounds acceptable if accompanied by strong field monitoring experience . eligibility.
Hands-on experience with monitoring instrument installation and maintenance: inclinometersstrain gauges piezometers and equivalent geotechnical/structural instruments
Proven experience interpreting monitoring data and translating results into engineeringrecommendations.
Familiarity with local Ontario standards and international standards related to constructionmonitoring.
Experience with risk management early warning systems and mitigation planning in aconstruction context.
Track record of preparing technical monitoring reports assessments and data visualizationoutputs for project stakeholders.
Implementation and management of structural and geotechnical monitoring plans.
Data analysis and visualization ability to build and present dashboards for technical andnon-technical stakeholders.
Real-time monitoring data processing and interpretation.
Compliance with industry regulations safety guidelines and contractual monitoringrequirements.
Site inspection and audit capability verify proper implementation of monitoring systems.
Risk identification: ground settlement structural deformations and mitigation measuredevelopment.
Technical documentation and data archiving for regulatory compliance.
Proficiency in monitoring equipment and data analysis software such as AutoCAD GISPlaxis Geoslope or real-time monitoring platforms.
Strong analytical problem-solving and technical reporting skills.
Excellent communication and the ability to work in multidisciplinary teams and collaborate withdifferent engineering disciplines.

This role offers an annual base salary in the anticipated range of $110000$140000 CAD with compensation determined based on experience qualifications and internal equity.
