Job Summary
Williams College seeks a Multimedia Producer to join us as a visual storyteller to capture the spirit of our small prestigious liberal arts college. Situated in the Berkshire Mountains of Western Massachusetts Williams College offers a rich academic environment in a beautiful setting. This is a position for a creator who thrives on variety. You will be the primary eye for the college responsible for high-quality long and short-form video and photography.

Reporting to the Art Director the Multimedia Producer is an integral member of the Communications team interacting with students faculty and staff. This multifaceted position requires the ability to understand the complex audiences of a liberal arts college and develop content for effective storytelling with these diverse audiences.
The successful candidate will demonstrate flexibility innovation and an interest in continued professional growth and learning evidence of successful project execution and the ability to establish strong positive relationships with all campus community members.
As part of the Communications team the Multimedia Producer will contribute to an inclusive workplace environment that is welcoming to and supportive of all people and diverse viewpoints. Responsibilities:
- Produce shoot and edit high-quality photography and video for the colleges primary channels (web print social).
- Serve as a fully self-sufficient crew of one managing all aspects of production from transport and setup to strike. This includes the physical agility to navigate diverse campus environments and the creative eye to capture unconventional angles and perspectives without the need for additional support staff.
- Pivot seamlessly between long-form documentary projects (Faculty Spotlights Virtual Campus tours) and short-form quick turnaround high-engagement social content.
- Recruit train and manage a small team of student creators providing professional creative direction and ensuring brand consistency.
- Maintain the colleges digital asset management system ensuring the digital archive of the college is organized and accessible.
- Work closely with editorial digital strategy and creative teams to manage content creation priorities and messaging.
Requirements:
- Bachelors of Arts degree and a minimum of 2 years of professional experience or equivalent combination of education and experience is required.
- Expert-level command of DSLR/Mirrorless systems and the Adobe Creative Suite (Premiere Lightroom Photoshop After Effects).
- Awareness/Understanding of latest technology principles and approaches: Adobe Creative Suite Canva style guides web design AI technologies social media platforms and accessibility.
- Experience with both studio lighting and natural/available location lighting and field audio recording.
- Experience sourcing and editing digital audio within legal copyright and licensing guidelines.
- Professional portfolio demonstrating experience and excellence in both photography and video.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
- Ability to work occasional evenings and weekends for major campus milestones (Commencement Presidential Events etc.).
- FAA Part 107 Drone License is optional but preferred.
Hybrid on-site/remote work arrangements may be available for up to 2 days of remote work per week for employees based in MA NY CT or VT following a fully in-person onboarding period. This position requires some flexibility for covering in-person events.
