DESCRIPTION

As the Director of Financial Planning and Analysis at Bezos Academy you will be responsible for leading the financial rhythms of the organization including enterprise-wide annual and multi-year planning. Reporting directly to the Chief Financial Officer you will evaluate and lead a team with the goal of providing trusted financial business partner perspectives to leaders across functions creating tools and processes to support best decisions and consistently encourage a stewardship mindset in the shared pursuit of the organizations mission and long-term priorities.

In this hands-on role you will utilize your problem-solving skills daily by inventing simplifying and making improvements to systems and processes to evolve and scale the organization. You will provide timely and relevant insights analyze data drive reporting improvements and interact with various stakeholders. You thrive and succeed in a high-stakes environment comfortably navigating ambiguity and competing priorities. COMPENSATION & BENEFITS

  • This is a full-timebenefits-eligibleexempt (salaried)position.
  • The fullsalaryrange for this position inSeattleWA is $173000- $293000per year.The upper third of the salary range istypically reserved for employees who have been in the role for multiple years and havedemonstratedstrong performanceover time. Starting salary will vary by qualifications and prior experience.
  • This role includes 15 paid days of vacation 4 days of paid personal time off9paid days of sick (care) time 9 paid holidays 5 paid days off for an organization-wide winter break and additional time off if required by applicable law. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelors degree or equivalent experience
  • Ten years of relevant experience with at least five years of people management and team leadership
  • Demonstrated financial acumen and analytical experience delivering forecasting budgeting variance analysis and data interpretation of results
  • Strong analytical skills and advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (e.g. proficiency in VBA/macros)
  • Experience working with financial analytical tools modeling methods and reporting systems
  • Understanding of US GAAPand internal control frameworks
  • Superior communication skills including the ability to identify and solve ambiguous problems present findings and recommendations in well-written documents of six pages or less and convey key info to audiences with diverse levels of financial and technical knowledge

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • MBA CPA or advanceddegree in arelevantfield
  • Ability to work in a rapidly evolving dynamic work environment
  • Comfort and confidence in translating business objectives into financial data structures used to support measurement of performance with a keen eye for simplification
  • Proven track record of working in consultative partnership with other business leaders to effectively improve decision-making steward financial resources and drive results
  • Demonstrated ability to automate and use systems to streamline business and financial reporting processes
