We are seeking a per diem Phlebotomist to work onsite at 260 Merrimac Street in Newburyport MA. The Blood Draw Lab is open Monday through Friday from 7:00am to 4:45pm.
Our Phlebotomists play a vital role in providing high-quality care to our patients and are responsible for collecting and processing blood specimens from patients for laboratory testing.
Essential Functions:
-Obtains quality blood samples using a variety of phlebotomy methods for all age groups.
-Ensures accurate patient identification quality specimen labeling processing handling and transportation of
specimens.
-Communicates effectively with patients and patient care teams explaining procedures and addressing patient concerns to ensure a high level of customer satisfaction.
-Handles sharps and biohazardous materials in accordance with regulatory requirements to ensure the safety of patients and staff.
-Works fluently with computer programs and systems and complies with HIPAA regulations.
-Performs other test administration and specimen collection as assigned
-Performs other duties as assigned
-Complies with all policies and standards
Qualifications
High School Diploma or Equivalent required
Completion of a phlebotomy course preferred
