Designer Womens Outlet Sweaters
About the Role:
POSITION SUMMARY: As a Designer for Womens Outlet Sweaters you will be an integral member of the Womens apparel design team responsible for creating relevant sophisticated and contemporary sweaters for women. Your role will involve contributing to and owning the design process conducting research analysis and managing the development of sweater designs with cross-functional teams that align with the brands vision market trends and commercial demand. You will collaborate with the diverse design team gain valuable experience and play an exciting role in elevating the brands womens sweater offerings. What Youll Do:
1. Design Support: Collaborate with the design lead to create sketches illustrations and technical drawings for womens sweaters. Contributes to brainstorming sessions and concept ideation to develop new and innovative sweater styles and techniques. Create organized design development line sheets charts and CADs.
2. Trend Research and Analysis: Conduct research on sweater trends knitting techniques and yarn innovation. Stay updated with the latest market trends and customer preferences in womens sweater fashion and fits.
3. Yarn Selection: Assist in sourcing and selecting suitable yarns and innovative yarn mixing for sweater prototypes and production. Worksclosely with supply and RM team for sampling and yarn ordering.
4. Tech Pack Creation: Responsible for the creation of detailed tech packs design specifications with knitting instructions for sweater samples and production. Supports design pass offs with technical design team from design details to construction.
5. Sample Review and Fit Sessions: Participate in sample reviews and fit sessions to provide feedback on the fit construction and design details of sweater prototypes.
6. Collaboration and Communication: Responsible for communication with cross-functional teams including product developers and merchandisers to ensure seamless execution of development and bulk. Proactively communicates with design lead with status updates and timelines in a timely manner to ensure deadlines and needs are being meet.
7. Brand Alignment: Understand and maintain the brands design aesthetic and language in all womens sweater products. Collaborate with the design team and brand team to ensure consistency in storytelling and branding across collections.
What Youll Bring:
3-5 years focused design experience in womenswear design with a specialization in sweaters.
Familiarity with knitting techniques yarns and sweater construction.
Bachelors Degree in Fashion Design
Previous experience in corporate fashion design preferably with a focus on sweaters.
Proficient in design software and tools such as Adobe Illustrator Centric PLM Excel and Miro
Ability to meet overlapping deadlines strong time management skills and proactive problem solving.
Strong organizational skills and detailed oriented
Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment while staying flexible
Excellent communication skills and the ability to effectively present ideas
