$23-$26 per hour depending on experience
The Class II Maintenance Engineer is responsible for performing general maintenance repairs and preventative maintenance throughout the hotel. This role supports the upkeep of guest rooms public areas and hotel equipment to ensure a safe and comfortable environment for guests and staff.
All work must be completed in a timely and efficient manner while maintaining professional appearance standards in accordance with company policies.
Responsibilities:
Perform general maintenance and repair work in guest rooms public areas and back-of-house areas.
Respond to guest room maintenance requests in a timely manner.
Maintain and repair guest room equipment including locks sliding doors televisions telephones lighting and HVAC systems.
Perform basic plumbing repairs including toilets drains P-traps and fixtures.
Perform basic electrical work including outlets breakers lighting ballasts and transformers.
Replace HVAC filters and light bulbs in guest rooms and corridors.
Assist with maintenance of fire and life safety systems including alarms extinguishers sprinkler systems and emergency lighting.
Assist with maintenance of boilers kitchen equipment pool/spa equipment and emergency generator systems.
Complete assigned work orders and maintain accurate maintenance records.
Maintain preventative maintenance carts with required tools and materials.
Report unsafe conditions or equipment issues to the Engineering Supervisor.
Follow departmental safety procedures and participate in required training.
Perform other duties as assigned by the Director of Engineering or Engineering Supervisor.
Qualifications:
Basic knowledge of plumbing electrical HVAC and general building maintenance.
Mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting ability.
Good communication skills and ability to interact with staff and guests.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Previous hotel maintenance experience preferred.
Ability to lift push pull and carry equipment and materials up to 50 lbs.
Frequent bending kneeling and climbing required.
Ability to climb stairs and ladders.
Ability to stand and walk for extended periods during scheduled shifts.
Work performed primarily indoors with occasional outdoor tasks.
May be exposed to varying temperatures depending on work location.
