Job Summary
As a Production Support Mechanical Engineer you will:
Reporting to the Lead Design Engineer the Production Support Mechanical Engineer will play a pivotal role in ensuring the reliability and performance of our switchgear designs. As part of the Production Engineering team you will be able to leverage your technical skillset to support all switchgear products throughout the entire organization. You will be responsible for investigating and resolving technical issues that may arise during production. When not supporting other internal departments you will leverage your product knowledge in the design of custom engineered products as part of our design team. Your expertise will be crucial in maintaining the highest quality standards and ensuring our products meet or exceed customer expectations. This position will work a 6:00 AM - 2:30 PM shift Monday-Friday.
- Technical Troubleshooting: Investigate and diagnose technical issues related to switchgear designs
- Root cause Analysis: Conduct thorough root cause analysis to identify the underlying reasons for technical problems
- Issue Resolution: Develop and implement effective solutions to address technical issues ensuring minimal impact on production schedules
- Quality Assurance: Collaborate with the quality assurance team to verify that all products meet quality and safety standards
- Documentation: Maintain detailed records of technical issues investigations and resolutions for future reference and continuous improvement
- Process Optimization: Identify opportunities for process improvement to enhance the efficiency and reliability of production
- Communication: Facilitate support from Engineering Quality Applications and Supply Chain for Manufacturing as needed during build process to minimize/eliminate delays in delivery to the customer
- Design: Supporting the custom design of G&W Products to internal engineering standards and best practices within customer lead time and quality expectations
- Collaboration: Work cross-functionally to support and provide technical aptitude for company and departmental projects as needed (e.g. Product Development Aftermarket Support Application Engineering Supply Chain and Manufacturing)
We are looking for someone who:
- Holds a bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering or Mechatronics Engineering or a relevant discipline
- Possesses strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Communicates and collaborates effectively with cross-functional teams
- Takes a proactive and detail-oriented approach to work
- Can work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment
Preferred Experience:
- Experience in electrical equipment manufacturing or related industries
- Knowledge of industry standards and regulations
- Familiarity with Six Sigma or Lean Manufacturing principles
- CAD software experience
- Change Management Experience
- Continuous improvement initiatives
- Root Cause Analysis / Problem-Solving strategies
- ISO Certified Manufacturing Environment Experience
What we offer you:
Typical pay is $80000 - 84493 annually.
