Job Summary
Overview
Element has an opportunity for an Senior Engineer to join our expanding team. As a member of the operations team the senior engineer position manages a variety of routine and non-routine mechanical testing projects within the department assigned and insures timely and accurate test results under minimal direct supervision. The senior engineer position must be proficient in a number of core business and technical skills including but not limited to compliance to established safety rules code of conduct and company policies and procedures.
Salary: $70000 - $120000/yr DOE
Responsibilities
Manage the entirety of multiple mechanical testing programs: Aerospace and/or medical device
Provide technical and engineering leadership and supports the development ofnew technologieswithin a local laboratory
Be accountable foraccurateandtimelyrelease of testing data to customers includingsign-offsof quality control data as acceptable
Be expected to obtain guidance in non-routine situation testing
Have the ability tooversee standard and/or routine technicalproblem solvingactivities
Interact with customers on technical issues and questions
Provide Input and support on business development opportunities with new or existing customers
Be confident in making both formal and informal presentations on conventional and/or routine testing to a wide range of stakeholders
Assistin the professional development of novice technicians and engineers within the local laboratory
Carry out crucialexaminationand implementation of testing concepts and data
Utilize an assortment of skill methodsproceduresand materials in advanced testing analysis
Be adept at drawing on internal knowledge as well as industry and/or academic resources in reaching testing conclusions
Skills / Qualifications
- Possess aBachelorsof Sciencedegree in an Engineering discipline
- Have a minimum of4years pertinent post degree engineering experience or advanced academic/professional qualifications
- Must have Materials Testing experience: Fatigue testing utilizing MTS or Instron
- Working knowledge of laboratory safety
- Possessa high levelofexpertiserelated to scope core theories conceptsterminologiesand boundaries of chosen engineering discipline
- In-depth understanding of testing concepts
- Can analyze and compiles testing data from the tests performed
- Familiar with ASTM testing Standards
- Familiar with orthopedic implants and surgical procedures
- Able tooperatea variety of mechanical test machines
- Fluent withSolidworksor other CAD software
