Payroll Specialist (Casual/Part-Time) - Mississauga ON
Location: Mississauga (Minimum 1 day/week on-site)
About the Role
Were looking for an experienced Casual Payroll Specialist to provide weekly and ad hoc support to our Payroll team. Youll assist with full cycle payroll processing system updates reconciliations reporting and employee inquiries in a fast paced multi provincial unionized environment. This role provides coverage during peak periods vacations year end and workload increases. This is a replacement position with a starting hourly rate of $31-$35 based on experience.
What Youll Do
- Support weekly/biweekly payroll processing and multi provincial payroll activities.
- Enter and validate timecards; resolve discrepancies and errors.
- Process employee changes in SAP UKG/Kronos HRIS.
- Issue ROEs and prepare statutory holiday calculations.
- Complete payroll GL reconciliations journal entries and statutory remittances.
- Analyze payroll data and support audits compliance reporting and year end tasks.
- Maintain employee data test system changes and ensure data integrity.
- Respond to payroll inquiries and provide guidance to managers/employees.
- Contribute to SOP updates process improvements and general admin tasks.
What You Bring
- PCP designation or active enrollment preferred.
- 5 years payroll experience in a high volume or multi province setting.
- 3 years in a unionized payroll environment.
- Experience with UKG/Kronos (strongly preferred) SAP Time & Attendance and HRIS/ERP systems.
- Strong knowledge of payroll legislation and accounting principles.
- Advanced Excel and strong analytical organizational and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently handle confidential information and meet tight deadlines.
Schedule
- Minimum 1 day/week onsite in Mississauga with flexibility for extra days during peak periods vacation coverage and year end.
