Job Description
- Handle substantive employment litigation matters from inception through resolution
- Draft pleadings dispositive motions discovery and substantive briefs
- Manage key litigation workstreams with increasing independence
- Conduct and defend depositions and support hearing preparation
- Appear at hearings mediations and settlement conferences commensurate with experience
- Advise employers and employees on employment law risks compliance and strategy
- Support workplace investigations and internal employment assessments as needed
- Counsel clients on discipline termination wage practices policy issues employment agreements separation matters and claims evaluation
- Communicate directly with clients opposing counsel and agency representatives
- Contribute to efficient case management and overall litigation strategy on significant matters
Qualifications
- 5 years of litigation experience in state and/or federal court
- Strong employment litigation experience required
- Experience with discrimination retaliation harassment wrongful termination wage and hour or related employment matters
- Demonstrated experience drafting dispositive motions and managing discovery
- Strong legal research writing and analytical skills
- Working knowledge of California employment statutes and civil procedure
- Active California Bar admission required
