Location: This is an on-site role based in St. Petersburg Florida with the potential for up to one work-from-home day per week for the right person.

Note: We are seeking an experienced litigator with medical malpractice defense and/or nursing home defense experience. Candidates with a history of frequent job changes will not be considered. Local candidates are strongly preferred as relocation is not being offered.

Job Description

• Handle medical malpractice defense and/or nursing home defense matters from case inception through resolution
• Manage case strategy discovery depositions motion practice mediations arbitrations and trial preparation
• Take ownership of case development and move files forward proactively
• Prepare clients experts and witnesses for deposition mediation arbitration and trial
• Draft and argue substantive motions and other key pleadings
• Evaluate liability damages and exposure and provide strategic recommendations
• Work closely with attorneys and staff in a team-oriented litigation environment
• Maintain strong client communication and deliver high-quality legal work in a timely manner

Qualifications

• 3 years of directly relevant litigation experience
• Strong background in medical malpractice defense and/or nursing home defense
• Trial prep experience required; actual trial experience preferred
• Strong writing deposition and case management skills
• Proactive accountable and team-oriented work style
• Stable job history preferred
• Florida Bar admission strongly preferred or required based on active practice needs
