Location: Remote role in either Providence Rhode Island or Boston Massachusetts.

Note: Candidates must have an active Rhode Island law license and 3 years of insurance defense and/or litigation experience.

Job Description

• Handle litigation matters from pleadings through discovery motion practice and resolution
• Draft motions briefs legal memoranda pleadings and discovery responses
• Take and defend depositions
• Appear in court and work directly with clients
• Conduct legal research analyze case facts and develop litigation strategy
• Communicate with clients opposing counsel experts and the court
• Attend hearings depositions mediations and trials as needed
• Collaborate with experienced attorneys and strong support staff on active matters
• Defend a variety of civil litigation matters including general liability personal injury construction defect commercial trucking and employment-related claims

Qualifications

• J.D. required
• Active Rhode Island bar admission required
• 3 years of insurance defense and/or litigation experience
• Strong legal writing research and analytical skills
• Experience drafting motions and other legal memoranda
• Experience with discovery depositions and court appearances
• Able to manage cases independently while working well as part of a team
• Active Massachusetts New Hampshire or Connecticut bar admission is a plus
• Ability to transfer UBE score is a plus
• Employment law construction defect and/or commercial trucking experience is a plus
