Overview
Our client is seeking a Senior Professional Land Surveyor (PLS) to lead survey operations across public and private sector projects. This role is highly leadership-focused and centered on execution ensuring survey deliverables are accurate compliant and delivered on time.
The Senior PLS will take ownership of the Inland Empire survey function overseeing both field and office teams while maintaining strong collaboration with engineering teams and clients.
This is not a purely technical role. The ideal candidate will be:

Key Responsibilities

Lead and manage the survey department including supervision of field and office staff
-
Oversee project delivery ensuring quality control and regulatory compliance
-
Manage scheduling resource allocation and department backlog
-
Serve as Surveyor in Responsible Charge; review sign and seal deliverables
-
Coordinate with internal engineering teams and external stakeholders
-
Drive accountability and ensure projects remain on track
-
Support business development efforts including proposals and client engagement
-
Represent the organization in professional associations and industry groups
What Were Looking For
-
8 years of land surveying experience
-
Active California Professional Land Surveyor (PLS) license (required)

Strong knowledge of:
-
ALTA/NSPS standards
-
Subdivision Map Act
-
Local regulations
-
Proven leadership experience managing teams and client relationships
-
Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D and field-to-finish survey workflows
-
Strong communication skills with the ability to manage stakeholders effectively
-
Comfortable working in fast-paced multi-project environments

Background in civil engineering or surveying firms

Experience leading teams or stepping into a leadership role
