Location: On-site in Birmingham Alabama with relocation open to discussion for the right candidate.

Note: Must have roadway / transportation design experience proficiency with Bentley OpenRoads or Power InRoads and a Civil Engineering degree. DOT experience is strongly preferred and candidates with an E.I./E.I.T. or P.E. will stand out.

Job Description

• Design roadway and transportation improvement projects using Bentley OpenRoads Designer / Power InRoads
• Prepare plans reports drawings cross-sections specifications and other construction documents
• Support the design and delivery of public infrastructure projects from concept through construction
• Review engineering drawings survey data and field information to develop accurate design solutions
• Assist with drainage roadway and traffic control design work
• Prepare technical reports permitting documents and related project deliverables
• Collaborate with senior engineers and project managers on technical direction quality control and project execution
• Contribute to public and private sector transportation projects that shape local communities

Qualifications

• Bachelors degree in Civil Engineering
• 2 years of roadway or transportation design experience
• Proficiency with Bentley Power InRoads and/or OpenRoads Designer
• E.I. / E.I.T. required or strongly preferred depending on level
• P.E. license preferred or clear path toward licensure
• DOT project experience strongly preferred
• Strong technical writing analytical and problem-solving skills
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a fast-paced engineering team
