The Welding Instructor is responsible for developing delivering and evaluating workforce training programs within a structural steel and bridge fabrication environment. This role ensures employees are equipped with the technical skills safety knowledge and quality standards required for fabrication welding and production operations. Working closely with operations safety and quality teams the Training Coordinator supports continuous improvement regulatory compliance and employee development on a 2nd shift schedule Monday through Thursday 5pm to 5am.
Responsibilities:

Assess training needs in collaboration with production managers welding supervisors and subject matter experts to support bridge fabrication and structural steel operations.

Design and develop comprehensive training programs including instructional materials standard operating procedures job aids manuals and presentations.

Deliver engaging classroom and hands-on training sessions covering fabrication processes weld procedures blueprint reading oxy-fuel torch operation safety protocols and quality standards.

Coordinate training schedules logistics and resources to minimize disruption to manufacturing and production workflows.

Ensure compliance with OSHA regulations industry safety standards and internal policies related to training and certification requirements.

Maintain accurate training records attendance documentation skills matrices and certification tracking for audits and regulatory reporting.

Evaluate training effectiveness through assessments performance metrics and employee feedback implementing continuous improvement initiatives as needed.

Support onboarding and skills development programs for new hires cross-training initiatives and upskilling efforts across fabrication and welding teams.

Promote a culture of continuous learning operational excellence and workforce development throughout the facility.
Qualifications:

Experience in structural steel fabrication bridge fabrication welding processes blueprint reading and oxy-fuel torch operations.

Proven experience designing delivering and evaluating training programs in a manufacturing fabrication or construction environment.

Strong knowledge of instructional design principles adult learning theory and workforce development best practices.

Understanding of OSHA regulations safety compliance standards and quality management systems within industrial settings.

Excellent communication facilitation and presentation skills with the ability to engage diverse employee populations.

Strong organizational skills with experience managing training schedules documentation and compliance reporting.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite including Word Excel and PowerPoint.

Ability to work a flexible 2nd shift schedule Monday through Thursday 5pm to 5am.
