Recruiting Heroes LLC is currently seeking an experienced Aircraft Mechanic (A&P) on behalf of a leading provider of manned and unmanned aircraft operations supporting defense and commercial missions. This organization delivers Airborne Intelligence Surveillance and Reconnaissance (ISR) services to U.S. and international partners and operates a fleet of mission-ready aircraft in dynamic operational environments.
This role reports to the Maintenance Lead and is responsible for inspecting repairing troubleshooting and maintaining aircraft to ensure mission readiness and regulatory compliance. Positions are available within the Contiguous United States (CONUS) on either a contracted or full-time basis.
Key Responsibilities
Perform scheduled and unscheduled aircraft maintenance on all aircraft systems including:
Piston engines
Propellers
Airframe and flight controls
Landing gear systems
Troubleshooting aircraft systems
Sheet metal and composite repair
Perform all maintenance in accordance with Federal Aviation Regulations (FARs) and manufacturer technical data
Maintain hand tools and special tools in safe and serviceable condition
Ensure personal and company tool accountability
Conduct serviceability checks prior to operating powered and non-powered support equipment
Maintain compliance with company policies procedures and safety standards
Supervise and assign maintenance tasks when required
Assist in training newly assigned personnel
Operate special purpose and standard vehicles as authorized
Maintain strong FOD awareness housekeeping and safety standards
Support weekend and holiday maintenance as required to meet mission readiness requirements
Essential Functions
Supervise and perform daily maintenance tasks
Schedule and coordinate maintenance activities
Communicate maintenance status to leadership
Maintain aircraft records and documentation
Manage maintenance inventory
Provide recommendations for maintenance solutions
Work extended hours as needed to support operational requirements
Minimum Qualifications
High School Diploma or equivalent
Minimum four (4) years of experience
FAA Airframe & Powerplant (A&P) Certificate (no violations)
Valid drivers license
Ability to pass a background check
Preferred Qualifications
Minimum five (5) years of experience on General Aviation aircraft
Minimum three (3) years of supervisory experience
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Proficiency with Microsoft Word Excel and maintenance software
