QUALITY INSPECTOR (STARSHIP)

  • Utilize inspection equipment such as micrometers calipers and profilometer
  • Approve or reject items and document inspection results as required
  • Perform documentation review and verification of certifications specifications and conformance to design requirements through eCerts or physical copies
  • Communicate with internal customers and suppliers to resolve inspection discrepancies
  • Complete surface plate work/inspection of machined aerospace parts
  • Support quality management system policies and procedure documentation assess compliance with company and industry standards initiate and lead continual improvement and lean manufacturing initiatives
  • Inspect flight hardware at the supplier according to engineering drawings purchase order(s) industry standards and SpaceX specifications
  • Use electronic MRP system to route parts and components to proper departments

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High school diploma or equivalency certificate
  • 1 years of receiving precision mechanical or metrological inspection experience

PREFERRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Experience operating a forklift or other material handling motorized vehicles and equipment
  • Practical experience working within quality management systems (AS9100 and ISO 9001)
  • Experience within the aerospace automotive semiconductor or electronic fields
  • Experience detecting design and drawing flaws
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications using ASME Y14.5
  • Experience with GD&T and use of metrology tools and gauges
  • Experience with Microsoft Word Outlook and Excel

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • This position is based in Westminster MD and requires being onsite - remote work not considered
  • Must be able to work extended hours and/or weekends as necessary
  • Willing to travel (up to 10%)

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS:

Pay range:
Level 1: $25.00 - $31.00/hour
Level 2: $29.00 - $37.00/hour
Level 3: $34.00 - $43.00/hour

Your actual level and base salary will be determined on a case-by-case basis and may vary based on the following considerations: job-related knowledge and skills education and experience.

Base salary is just one part of your total rewards package at SpaceX.
