Rijkswaterstaat is seeking a Project Control Advisor to play a key role in shaping large-scale infrastructure and environmental projects across the Netherlands.
From major road and waterway developments to ecological initiatives such as Natura2000 your work will directly impact millions of people and the natural environment. This is a high-impact advisory role where your insights will drive smarter decisions and stronger project outcomes.
Your Impact
As a trusted advisor you will work closely with the project control manager to strengthen project governance and performance. You will provide both strategic and operational guidance across key control areas:
- Baseline management (time cost scope)
- Risk & opportunity management
- Project planning and reporting
- Information and documentation management
- Quality assurance and continuous improvement
You will proactively identify risks uncover opportunities and drive actionable solutions that enhance project success.
Key Responsibilities
- Advise project teams on integrated project control within the Natura 2000 Programme
- Monitor and maintain project baselines throughout the lifecycle
- Identify analyze and mitigate risks while leveraging opportunities
- Ensure structured documentation and accessible project archives
- Prepare periodic reports dashboards and evaluations
- Drive quality improvements and track performance measures
- Collaborate with stakeholders and engage subject matter experts where needed
What You Bring
- Bachelors or Masters degree (HBO/WO) in a relevant field
- 5 years of experience in project control (essential)
- Strong knowledge of:
- Baseline management
- Risk & opportunity management
- Planning and quality systems
- Proven experience working within IPM (Integrated Project Management) teams
- Strong analytical thinking with a solution-oriented mindset
- Ability to operate in complex political and administrative environments
- Excellent organizational and planning skills
- Proactive detail-oriented and collaborative approach
- Fluency in Dutch (mandatory)
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in public sector or infrastructure projects
- Strong stakeholder management and advisory skills
- Demonstrated political and administrative sensitivity
- Willingness to travel between project locations
Work Environment
- Hybrid working model (office remote flexibility)
- Collaborative multidisciplinary teams
- Exposure to high-impact national infrastructure projects
