Role Overview
This role supports the final phase of a high-visibility vehicle / weapon system program including test site support failure analysis and system integration. Candidates can come from either a mechanical design or test/validation engineering background with strong troubleshooting and analytical capability across mechanical and electrical systems.
Key Responsibilities:
Design and support mechanical components and vehicle systems for heavy-duty platforms
Perform test engineering validation and failure analysis on integrated systems
Support test site operations including troubleshooting and root cause analysis
Lead or support failure analysis procedures and corrective actions
Create and modify 3D CAD models using PTC Creo
Work within PLM systems such as Windchill
Support mechanical integration of complex systems including supplier coordination
Interface with electrical/video systems and controls components
Troubleshoot issues across mechanical electrical and software interfaces
Work with CAN Bus communication protocols and system diagnostics
Generate engineering documentation reports and test results
Collaborate with cross-functional teams including design test manufacturing and suppliers
Required Qualifications:
Bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering Electrical Engineering or related field
3 years of experience in one or more of the following:
Mechanical Design Engineering
Test / Validation Engineering
Systems Integration Engineering
Experience with CAD tools (Creo preferred; SolidWorks NX CATIA acceptable)
Strong troubleshooting and root cause analysis skills
Ability to work across mechanical and electrical systems
High-Value Preferred Experience:
Background in test engineering validation or failure analysis
Experience supporting test sites field testing or prototype builds
Familiarity with:
CAN Bus / vehicle communication protocols
Electrical systems sensors or video systems
Experience with:
Automotive defense heavy equipment robotics or autonomous systems
Exposure to:
Electrification (EV systems)
Robotics / automation
Autonomous vehicle technologies
Ideal Candidate Profiles:
Mechanical Engineer with hands-on test or validation experience
Test Engineer with strong mechanical aptitude and CAD exposure
Systems Engineer with vehicle integration and troubleshooting background
