About the Role:
The Quality Supervisor is responsible for leading and improving the Quality Management System within a precision manufacturing and metal stamping environment. This role oversees Statistical Process Control Gage R&R programs corrective and preventive actions APQP processes and ISO compliance while driving continuous improvement initiatives. The Quality Supervisor partners closely with production engineering and management teams to ensure product conformity reduce waste and strengthen overall quality performance. This position requires hands-on execution leadership capability and strong knowledge of quality systems and manufacturing processes.
Responsibilities:
- Lead and maintain the Quality Management System in compliance with ISO 9000 standards.
- Facilitate Statistical Process Control programs including monitoring CPK data and capability studies.
- Oversee Gage R&R studies and measurement system analysis to ensure process effectiveness.
- Coordinate and manage Corrective and Preventive Action processes including root cause analysis.
- Serve as backup ISO management representative and support audit preparation and compliance.
- Participate in APQP activities applying Total Quality Management tools during pre-production.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives through Kaizen events PIT teams and process improvement activities.
- Develop and conduct quality training programs to build knowledge across departments.
- Serve as primary quality contact for customer issue resolution and complaint management.
- Monitor quality performance metrics and establish systems for tracking and reporting.
- Support qualification of new equipment and processes to ensure quality standards are met.
- Lead or advise cross-functional quality and improvement teams.
- Maintain environmental compliance objectives aligned with Environmental Management Systems.
- Provide leadership and direction to QA staff in the absence of the QA Manager.
- Authorize process shutdowns when nonconforming product is identified.
- Hold nonconforming stock from shipment and issue RGAs and CARs as required.
Qualifications:
- Experience in manufacturing quality assurance preferably within metal stamping or precision manufacturing.
- Working knowledge of ISO 9000 Quality Management Systems.
- Strong understanding of SPC CPK analysis Gage R&R APQP and root cause analysis methodologies.
- Experience leading corrective action and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Ability to analyze data and apply statistical tools to improve manufacturing processes.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to engage employees from shop floor to senior leadership.
- Demonstrated leadership capability and ability to influence cross-functional teams.
- Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
- Mechanical or technical background preferred.
Desired Qualifications:
- Laboratory or metallurgical experience.
- Knowledge of environmental management systems and compliance standards.
- SQE ASP ASME or related quality certification preferred.
- Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma training.
