We are seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer (Electrical Engineer III) to lead the design and optimization of electrical power systems supporting critical energy infrastructure including pipelines compressor stations and storage facilities. This is a high-impact engineering role focused on power distribution system reliability safety and advanced energy technologies within the natural gas and energy sector.
This position begins in Pittsburgh PA for approximately two (2) years with a planned relocation to Tulsa OK or Houston TX based on project needs. Candidates must be open to relocation.
You will play a key role in delivering safe efficient and innovative electrical systems that power essential operations across large-scale energy facilities.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead design and optimization of electrical power distribution systems for industrial energy infrastructure
Develop electrical schematics system layouts and upgrades for existing and new facilities
Integrate automation real-time monitoring and energy storage technologies to improve performance and efficiency
Perform and review arc flash studies and implement electrical safety improvements
Ensure compliance with NEC NEMA API IEEE and all applicable safety and environmental standards
Manage electrical engineering projects from concept through commissioning and startup
Oversee the procurement of electrical equipment and coordinate with vendors and suppliers
Support FAT commissioning testing and startup of electrical systems
Collaborate with cross-functional engineering and operations teams
Mentor junior engineers and support technical development
Required Skills & Experience:
Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering (ABET-accredited) OR Engineering Technology degree with PE License (preferred)
4 years of electrical engineering experience in natural gas data centers or related industrial environments
Strong experience in power distribution and electrical system design for industrial facilities
Knowledge of high-voltage equipment including transformers generators and switchgear
Experience reviewing arc flash studies and implementing mitigation strategies
Proficiency with power system analysis tools such as ETAP MATLAB PSCAD or Simulink
Strong understanding of electrical codes and standards (NEC NEMA API IEEE)
Experience in PLCs HMI systems or instrumentation (preferred)
Project management or EPC/FEED experience (preferred)
Willingness to travel up to 50%
Preferred Qualifications:
Professional Engineer (PE) License
Masters degree in Electrical Engineering
Experience in Pre-FEED FEED or EPC projects
Strong background in electrical procurement and vendor management
