Mechanical Engineering Manager

We are seeking a Professional Engineer (PE) Licensed Engineering Manager to lead our Mechanical Engineering Department in Ames IA. This is a senior leadership role responsible for managing mechanical design projects engineering staff and ensuring high-quality delivery of HVAC piping and plumbing systems.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead and oversee all mechanical engineering and design work produced by the team
• Manage full-cycle design layout and execution of engineering projects (MEP systems)
• Develop in-house engineering drawings detailed designs and conceptual layouts
• Ensure accuracy performance and compliance of all engineering deliverables
• Coordinate HVAC piping and plumbing system design across projects
• Serve as primary contact for external consultants vendors and project partners
• Schedule and manage engineering staff workload in coordination with project managers
• Attend client meetings design reviews and construction coordination meetings
• Establish implement and maintain engineering standards and best practices
• Mentor train and evaluate engineering team members
• Oversee multiple concurrent projects with varying complexity
• Utilize Revit AutoCAD and Navisworks for design coordination

Qualifications:

• Bachelors degree in Mechanical Construction or related Engineering field
• Active Professional Engineer (PE) License required
• 7 years of engineering experience in MEP / HVAC / construction-related fields
• 5 years of leadership or engineering management experience
• Strong knowledge of HVAC piping and plumbing systems
• Proficiency in Revit AutoCAD and Navisworks
• Valid drivers license with acceptable driving record
• Must pass pre-employment drug screening
