Assistant Accountant

The Role will involve:

Main duties:

• Calculation of accruals and prepayments for the Group.
• Maintenance of fixed asset ledger for the Group.
• Maintenance of intercompany accounts.
• Preparation of month end reconciliations.
• Assist with the timely production of monthly management accounts for all companies within the Group.
• Assist with the timely production of the Groups VAT returns.
• Assist in the preparation of the Groups annual financial statements.
• Assist in the preparation of files for annual audit.
• Assist in the preparation of budgets forecasts and key performance indicators for the Group.
• Provide cover for payroll clerks holidays
• Assist in the monitoring of financial controls for the Group.
• Assist in the development and maintenance of all financial IT systems for the Group.
• Actively participate in any training and personnel exercises designed to improve standards and performance levels
• Observe all requirements under Health & Safety regulations
• Upkeep the companys equal opportunities policy to ensure a neutral working environment
• Keep staff/work areas tidy safe and report any hazard accident or loss or damage to management and observe all requirements under current health & safety regulations

Essential Skills

• Strong analytical skills
• Extensive knowledge of bookkeeping skills
• Extensive experience with Excel spreadsheets.
• At least 2 years experience in a similar role

Desirable Skills

• Accounting technician qualification

The salary for this role is 30000 to 32200 per annum.
The hours for this role will be 8am to 4pm Monday to Friday.
