Nursery Plants Team Member
Location:South Surrey West Coast Gardens
Hours:8:30am5:00pm 3040 hoursper week
Pay:$18-20/hr
Duration:MarchJune (possibility to continue into summer season)
About theRole:
West Coast Gardens is looking for ahands-on Plant Specialistto helpmaintainour trees shrubs and perennials in our retail garden centre. This is an active role focused onplant care merchandising andmaintainingstrong retail displays working both independently and with the team to keep our nursery looking its best.
This position is ideal for someone withhorticulture or garden centre experiencewho enjoys working outdoors staying busy and taking pride in well-maintained plants and displays.
Responsibilities:
Maintain the health and presentation oftrees shrubs and perennials
Water prune deadhead and care for plants to ensure theyremainhealthy and retail-ready
Work with bothindoor and outdoor teamsto ensure displays are compelling and consistently maintained
Assist the Retail Manager inmaintainingseasonal outdoor displays and merchandising standards
Help customers when needed and ensurefriendly helpful servicein the garden centre
Qualifications:
Minimum1 year experiencein landscaping a nursery or garden centre
Strongplant knowledge and passion for horticulture
Able to workindependently and as part of a team
Strongattention to detail and problem-solving skills
Comfortable working in aphysically active role standing forlong periodsandlifting upto 30 lbs
Reliable transportation is recommended as the location is not accessible by bus
