About the Role

Were looking for a detail-oriented collaborative and growth-minded professional to join our team as Applied AI Specialist AI this role you will maintain and deploy AI-powered applications that translate machine learning models and algorithms into scalable user-facing products. This role independently owns small AI-driven features or services including model integration inference APIs and intelligent workflows from experimentation through production deployment. We value candidates who actively experiment with modern AI tooling and stay current with advancements in agentic systems orchestration frameworks and applied ML. Although this role centers on AI application development team members are expected to be versatile. learning broader AI engineering practices and contributing to emerging agent-based or data-centric initiatives as business needs evolve.

What Youll Do

  • Design and implement end-to-end AI features integrating machine learning models algorithms and inference services into production applications whilst collaborating with technology stakeholders.
  • Develop APIs and backend services using and/or Python (FastAPI/Flask) to operationalize trained models.
  • Translate experimental ML outputs into stable user-facing functionality whilst adhering to Technology stakeholder requirements.
  • Implement deployment patterns for ML models using containerization and CI/CD workflows.
  • Integrate services built with TensorFlow PyTorch or scikit-learn models into scalable application layers.
  • Develop and optimize AI-driven workflows including retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) vector search and agentic tool execution frameworks.
  • Build responsive interfaces using React/ and TypeScript to support AI features.
  • Design UI states that communicate model progress confidence indicators and safe failure modes.
  • Independently own small AI features from design through release.
  • Participate in code reviews write automated tests and maintain documentation.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree in Computer Science Engineering or related field (or equivalent practical experience).
  • 13 years of hands-on experience (including internships/co-ops) building software systems that integrate machine learning models or AI services.
  • Demonstrated experience with model experimentation training support and deployment to production environments.
  • Proficiency in TypeScript React/ and/or Python.
  • Experience with ML frameworks such as TensorFlow PyTorch or scikit-learn.
  • Familiarity with orchestration libraries such as LangChain/LangGraph Strands open AI Agents SDK/Swarm.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Exposure to containerization (Docker) and cloud environments (AWS/Azure/GCP).
  • Familiarity with vector databases and AI observability tooling.
  • Strong product sense and user empathy with a bias toward shipping.
  • Detail-oriented collaborative and growth-minded.
  • Comfortable learning new domains (including foundational agentic AI concepts) with mentorship and clear scope.

Location: Toronto

The hiring base salary range for this position is $76300 - $104900 annually. Actual compensation within this range will be dependent upon the individuals knowledge skills experience equity with other team members and alignment with market data. Please note that the disclosed salary range is solely for candidates hired to perform work within this geographic location. Candidates hired to work in other locations will be subject to the pay range associated with that location.
