Senior Backend Software Developer (6 Month, Contract)

The Dufresne Group is currently seeking anIntermediate Backend Software Developer (Contract 6 months) for oureCommerceTeamwithin ourHome Officelocated at147 Commerce DriveinWinnipeg MB.

As an Intermediate Backend SoftwareDeveloperyou will be responsible fordeveloping the backend system and working closely with our front-end development team to build and make changes that support our website which is integrated with the Shopify Plus platform and other third-party systems.

As theIntermediate Backend SoftwareDeveloperyou will:

• Design develop and maintain high-performing backend services and APIs technologies.ââ

• Provide estimations for requested features and work on Azure DevOps following agile processes.ââ

• Develop and maintain a Shopify App as a Shopify Sales Channel.ââ

• Write clean and document code that is easy to follow modular in design and follows best practices.ââ

• Set up configure and build complex databases including data structure normalization query optimization security and integrity.ââ

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and address system bottlenecks performance issues and security vulnerabilities and provide technical support where required.â

As a successful candidate youwill have the following:

• Bachelors degree or diploma in computer science programming software development or a related field. A combination of education and experience will be considered.

• 5 years of experience Core MVC and entity framework C# for back-end development is an asset.

• Strong proficiency with C# framework with experience in Web API and Entity Framework.

• Familiarity with database design optimization and querying using SQL Server or similar databases.

• Understanding of the Shopify API or the ability to learn the Shopify API quickly is required.

• Knowledge of Microsoft Azure or Amazon AWS is an asset.

• Experience with Agile methodologies and version control systems such as Git.

• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills both written and verbal.

• Works well in a team environment and effectively collaborates on complex projects.

• Critical thinker and problem solver with strong attention to detail organization and prioritization skills.

• Hybrid In Office/Work from Home.
