The role/Te mahi
Were looking for a dedicated Team Leader to join our close-knit team committed to student wellbeing public safety and community engagement.
Youll lead a frontline team that plays a vital role in fostering a safe and supportive campus for students and staff.
In this role you will:
Supervise and lead Campus Watch Team Members to ensure they positively influence personal safety and behaviour on and off campus.
Deliver pastoral care to students and prevent crime and disorder.
Respond to incidents with calm confidence and care.
Deliver regular training performance reviews and maintain operational excellence across the team.
You will also play an important role in building and maintaining positive working relationships with a wide range of external and internal stakeholders.

What were looking for:
An experienced leader with high integrity and proven ability to relate to young people.
Great communication strong risk assessment skills and sound judgement.
Strong pastoral care experience.
A calm approachable leader who can relate well to students and staff from all backgrounds.
A good working knowledge of relevant New Zealand law.
A well-developed sense of humour is also valued.
You will be physically fit and healthy hold a current full drivers licence and current First Aid certificate. You will also hold or be willing to obtain a Firearms Licence.

Campus Watch is made up of a diverse approachable group of individuals who are always available to provide support guidance and assistance whenever and wherever its needed.

This is a full-time permanent position based in Ōtepoti Dunedin. The role includes shift work outside of standard business hours.
Working hours will be scheduled in advance through a roster and will average 37.5 hours per week over each 10-week period.

The appointment range for this role is $75631 to $80503 Top of Range $88750.
You must have the right to live and work in New Zealand to apply for this job.
Candidates who successfully make the final stages of the recruitment process will be required to undergo a Police clearance check.
