Alden-Hebron School District 19 is seeking a dedicated and innovative IT District Technology Coordinator to maintain upgrade and support our technology systems. This individual will play a key role in advancing technology integration across the District while providing hands-on support training and leadership in technology initiatives.
Qualifications:
Knowledge of and experience with computers programs and networks.
Strong interpersonal skills to train personnel and chair meetings.
Experience in developing and managing annual budgets.
Experience with Chromebooks and Google Admin/Workspace for device management.
Experience with Microsoft 365 preferred.
Experience with Go Guardian preferred.
Experience with PowerSchool SIS preferred.
Familiarity with eRate and grant research preferred.
Job Goals:
Primary: Maintain upgrade and repair systems and equipment throughout the District. Secondary: Support and facilitate the use of technology systems training and coordination with administrators.
Terms of Employment:
Full-time: 5 days per week 8 hours per day.
Work year: 260 days.
Salary Range: $48000 - $67200 commensurate with experience.
Established by the Board of Education.
Evaluation: Performance will be evaluated annually by the Superintendent with input from Building Administrators.
Key Responsibilities:
Attitude and Approach:
Flexible friendly and patient with a willingness to learn and adapt.
Creative problem-solver capable of explaining technical concepts to non-technical staff.
Availability for occasional evening or weekend work as needed.
Device Management:
Configure and maintain staff laptops (Windows) and student devices (Chromebooks/iPads).
Administer Google Workspace for Education and Microsoft Office 365.
Support application deployment testing and setup (e.g. IAR testing apps).
Administer tools like GoGuardian for web filtering and classroom monitoring.
Perform general hardware repairs and work with vendors for technical support.
Student Information System (PowerSchool):
Administer PowerSchool ensuring accurate data and report generation.
Assist with beginning-of-year vendor setups and classroom application rostering.
Telephone Systems:
Maintain and troubleshoot IP phone systems (Mitel experience preferred).
General Administration:
Maintain inventory of staff and student laptops.
Annual configurations of new devices.
Plan for and implement technology updates and acquisitions.
Collaborate on the annual technology budget and eRate processes.
Performance Responsibilities:
Technology Program:
Set up and manage network and email accounts.
Implement security measures and recommend state-of-the-art technology solutions.
Chair the District Technology Committee and develop the District Technology Plan.
Oversee website management and computer lab scheduling.
Training:
Develop and deliver technical training and in-service modules.
Facilitate professional development for curriculum-related applications.
Hardware and Software:
Provide technical support for all users and oversee maintenance of technical equipment.
Ensure proper licensing and updates for software and operating systems.
Budget and Finance:
Assist in budgeting and purchasing for technology needs.
Research and manage technology-related grants and cost-saving initiatives.
