POSITION SUMMARY
The School Bus Driver transports students for activities such as sporting events field trips club events and residential bus routes. Includes working a flexible schedule to support night and weekend activities. Performs numerous other assignments as specified by management.
REPORTS TO: Director of Facility Services
ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES
- Maintains vehicle cleanliness.
- Performs daily pre-trip inspection of assigned bus.
- Reviews bus schedules.
- Maintains order on the bus.
- Fuels bus and checks oil and other fluid levels.
- Submits conduct reports when needed to the appropriate administrator.
- Notifies the Facility Services office of any delays which may lead to conflicts with other bus runs.
- Notifies the Director of Facility Services of any mechanical or safety problems encountered with a bus.
- Assists with other duties as assigned.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS Required qualifications to effectively perform the job. An equivalent combination of education training and experience will be considered.
- A High School Diploma or GED is required.
- Valid Missouri Commercial Drivers License with School Bus Passenger and Air Brake Endorsements required.
- Must pass a physical examination and drug screening.
KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES May be representative but not all-inclusive of those knowledge skills and abilities commonly associated with the job.
- Requires ability to read and understand route instructions in written oral or diagrammatic form and identify material by label and written or computer listings.
- Requires ability to operate bus and automotive equipment.
- Requires ability to work collaboratively.
- Requires effective written and verbal communication skills.
- Requires ability to operate common cleaning equipment.

WORK ENVIRONMENT Environmental or atmospheric conditions commonly associated with the performance of the functions of this job.
- Work in a variety of weather conditions and building environments. Exposed to loud noise levels.
TERM OF EMPLOYMENT: Part-time as needed employment. Occasionally required to split workdays and work weekends. 10-month position.
Education: High School diploma or equivalent is required.
Experience: A minimum of 1 year job-related experience is preferred.
Compensation: $21.22 - $31.85/hr
