Job Summary:

Compass Systems Inc. is seeking a highly experienced Training Subject Matter Expert (SME) to support Naval Special Warfare (NSW) Group One (NSWG-1) training programs focused on unmanned systems (UxS). This role supports the development delivery and evaluation of Mission Qualification Training (MQT) and Initial Qualification Training (IQT) programs aligned with operational objectives.


The SME will serve as a technical and instructional authority responsible for designing and validating curriculum delivering classroom and hands-on instruction and ensuring training effectiveness across multiple UxS platforms (UAV USV UUV UGV). This position works closely with government stakeholders to coordinate training requirements analyze training outcomes and recommend improvements to enhance mission readiness and operational effectiveness.


Job Functions:

Develop design and maintain UxS training curricula in accordance with DoD Instructional Systems Design (ISD) methodologies (e.g. ADDIE)

Deliver classroom simulation-based and hands-on instruction for UxS platforms (UAV USV UUV UGV)

Support execution of Mission Qualification Training (MQT) and Initial Qualification Training (IQT) programs

Evaluate training effectiveness through student assessments feedback and performance analysis

Validate and update training materials to reflect new equipment systems and operational requirements

Provide subject matter expertise on UxS operations maintenance procedures safety protocols and lifecycle sustainment

Ensure compliance with CNSWCINST 1500.1A NSW High Risk Training Safety requirements during all training activities

Support coordination of training logistics including scheduling facilities ranges and equipment

Conduct risk assessments and ensure adherence to Operational Risk Management (ORM) processes

Analyze training outcomes and recommend improvements to enhance readiness and training effectiveness

Maintain accurate training records documentation and reporting in accordance with program requirements

Collaborate with government stakeholders instructors and cross-functional teams to support training execution and continuous improvement

Support integration of simulation tools and emerging technologies into training programs

Requirements

Required Qualifications:

Active TS/SCI Security Clearance

Minimum of five (5) years of combined experience operating maintaining and providing instruction on unmanned systems (UxS) platforms (UAV USV UUV UGV) with demonstrated experience across all three areas

Demonstrated understanding of UxS operations maintenance procedures safety protocols and applicable DoD regulations

Experience developing maintaining and delivering training programs including classroom simulation-based and hands-on instruction

Familiarity with adult learning principles and DoD Instructional Systems Design (ISD) methodologies (e.g. ADDIE model)

Demonstrated knowledge of CNSWCINST 1500.1A NSW High Risk Training Safety requirements

Current Basic Life Support (BLS) CPR and AED certification

Strong written and verbal communication skills including the ability to develop training materials and deliver briefings

Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced mission-driven environment


Preferred Qualifications:

Experience supporting Naval Special Warfare (NSW) NAVSPECWARCOM USSOCOM or other Special Operations Forces (SOF) organizations

Experience with Mission Qualification Training (MQT) and Initial Qualification Training (IQT) programs

Master Training Specialist (MTS) or equivalent instructor certification

Experience with UxS simulation systems and training technologies

Experience integrating emerging UxS platforms payloads and systems into training programs


Physical Requirements:

While performing the duties of this job the employee routinely is required to learn and apply new information and/or skills. Must be able to interpret data information and documents.

Occasional Travel may be required. 10%

Occasionally will need to lift/and or move up to 20lbs

Moderate environment temperature and noise level.
