About This Role

Join CHCs Assessment team and make a meaningful impact on the lives of children adolescents and young adults. As an Assessment Psychologist youll conduct comprehensive psychological evaluations that inform treatment planning and support positive developmental outcomes. Working across our San Jose and Palo Alto locations youll collaborate with interdisciplinary teams provide expert consultation and help families understand their childs unique strengths and needs through clear actionable recommendations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Establish medical necessity for psychological evaluations in accordance with Santa Clara County Medi-Cal guidelines
  • Conduct comprehensive clinical interviews with clients and caregivers; develop case formulations and synthesize findings for interdisciplinary teams
  • Plan and conduct comprehensive psychological assessments for children adolescents and young adults (ages 620) selecting appropriate assessment batteries based on referral questions and clinical history
  • Administer score interpret and integrate results from standardized psychological assessment instruments across multiple domains of functioning
  • Develop and provide clear actionable recommendations and treatment planning based on assessment results which may include individual dyadic family parent and collateral interventions
  • Provide feedback sessions to clients caregivers and relevant providers to explain assessment results and recommendations
  • Offer psychological consultation to clinicians caregivers and other professionals including review of external reports
  • Coordinate clinical care with interdisciplinary team members including case managers masters-level clinicians speech-language pathologists occupational therapists education staff and psychiatry
  • Participate in school observations IEP meetings and other school-based meetings as needed to support implementation of recommendations
  • Attend required clinical staff meetings team meetings committees and workgroups to support program quality and service delivery
  • Participate in bi-weekly assessment consultation groups by presenting cases and providing peer consultation
  • Supervise trainees (e.g. practicum students doctoral interns postdoctoral fellows) as needed
  • Maintain timely and accurate documentation including assessment reports charting and billing in compliance with Medi-Cal requirements CHC policies and all legal and ethical standards
  • Meet productivity standards as assigned by the Division Director; full productivity is expected by the end of the third month of employment
  • Perform other related duties as assigned by the Program Manager or Division Director

Required Qualifications

  • Ph.D./Psy.D. in Clinical Psychology from an accredited graduate school preferably with at least (3) years post-doctoral experience in pediatric adolescent and/or school-based clinical settings
  • Active valid and in good standing California license to practice psychology

Additional Qualifications

  • Demonstrated knowledge of CHCs four areas of expertise: ADHD Learning Disabilities Anxiety & Depression and Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD)
  • Specialized training and experience in ASD assessment including differential diagnosis (e.g. trauma anxiety ADHD in-utero substance exposure and other neurodevelopmental or psychiatric conditions)
  • Formal training and significant experience administering the Autism Diagnostic Observation Schedule 2nd Edition (ADOS-2) and other measures related to autism spectrum disorder
  • Extensive experience in assessment of multiple domains of functioning including cognitive functional academics attention executive functioning learning and memory and social/emotional/behavioral functioning
  • Strong skills in evidence-based therapeutic approaches case formulation and treatment planning for children adolescents and families
  • Excellent time-management organizational interpersonal and written communication skills
  • Proficiency with computers electronics technology and Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems
  • Ongoing compliance with all professional ethical legal and confidentiality standards as required by the California Board of Psychology the American Psychological Association and applicable state and federal laws (e.g. HIPAA)
  • Established reliability with ADOS-2 administration
  • Comfort and experience providing services via telehealth platforms

Physical & Work Requirements

This position may require occasional lifting moving or setup of testing materials laptops and assessment kits. The role involves extended periods of computer-based work and frequent interpersonal interaction with clients caregivers colleagues and external partners. Flexibility in work schedule is required to meet client needs.
