Job Summary

The Department of Religion is accepting applications for a full-time position at the rank of Lecturer in Asian Religions for the academic year. The candidates area of expertise is open but we especially welcome candidates who specialize in Buddhism (any region) or non-Buddhist religious traditions of East and Southeast Asia. Preference will be given to candidates who can demonstrate an ability to teachan undergraduate survey course in Chinese religions and an undergraduate course on Great Books in Buddhism. The successful applicant will teach a total of four courses over two semesters in the Department of Religion at the undergraduate level.

Applications are welcome from candidates who have or expect to have a Ph.D. by the expected start date of September 1 2026. Applications should include: (1) a cover letter explaining the candidates qualifications and teaching experience; (2) a current curriculum vitae; (3) one or two sample course syllabi; and (4) the names and contact information for three references. No letters of recommendation are required at this time. Only candidates selected for an interview will be contacted.
