Position Overview
Supports the development and delivery of Long Term Gas and Electric Resource Plans by leading meaningful Indigenous and interested parties engagement and related analysis. Builds trusted relationships through effective communication inclusive engagement strategies and insight driven approaches. Collaborates closely with cross functional teams to align engagement outcomes with resource planning objectives. Strengthens IRP delivery by applying consistent project management practices that enhance planning governance execution and reportingdriving positive relationships and impactful outcomes.
In this role you will:
- Leads long-term planning engagement by assessing internal and external interested parties needs supporting demand and supply forecasting energy transition initiatives and resource strategy development.
- Facilitates ongoing interested parties communication and collaboration to gather feedback address concerns resolve conflicts and support informed decision-making aligned with organizational goals and constraints.
- Plans and manages engagement activities and events including coordination with vendors and suppliers contract negotiations and risk identification and mitigation related to interested parties engagement.
- Establishes and maintains IRP project management practices overseeing scope schedule budget quality integrated workplans dependencies and project controls (e.g. RAID logs change control documentation).
- Drives continuous improvement by developing engagement performance metrics capturing lessons learned standardizing processes and recommending tools and practices to enhance transparency predictability and outcomes.
What it takes:
- Strong written verbal and presentation skills with the ability to listen effectively adapt messaging and facilitate productive discussions and events.
- Proven ability to build and maintain positive collaborative relationships with internal and external interested parties while working effectively within cross functional teams.
- Demonstrated project management expertise including knowledge of project governance scope schedule budget/forecasting and change control.
- Skilled in developing clear audit ready project documentation (e.g. charters workplans interested parties registers RAID logs decision records and status reports).
- Proficient with project management and collaboration tools (e.g. MS Project/Planner SharePoint Teams) to track deliverables milestones and enable transparent reporting.
- Demonstrated strong analytical capability in support of integrated resource planning enabling robust evaluation of system needs tradeoffs and longterm planning decisions.
In this role you will have the option to participate in a flexible work program enabling you to work from an approved flex location in British Columbia up to 85 days a year (equivalent to approximately two days a week) subject to business or operational needs.
