About This Role:

Giant Tiger Trucking is seeking an experienced AZ Licensed Driver Development Trainer to support the growth and development of our professional driver team. This role is critical in supporting both our Professional Driver Program AZ / Professional Driver Deployment Program helping develop the next generation of safe skilled professional drivers while reinforcing industry leading fleet safety practices.

This position combines hands-on driver instruction mentorship facilitation of skills training and operational support within our fleet operations.

What Youll Be Doing:

The Driver Development Trainer is responsible for delivering practical and classroom training to drivers participating in the Professional Driver Program AZ / Professional Driver Deployment Program. Trainers act as subject matter experts (SMEs) in safe commercial vehicle operation and help ensure drivers meet the highest standards of safety compliance and professionalism in the industry.

A Driver Development Trainer is an expert professional driver who is passionate about the trade of trucking and committed to mentoring the next generation of drivers while upholding the strong safety culture that defines Tiger Trucking.

The Driver Development Trainer is a Subject Matter Expert (SME) who is willing to lead mentor and share the key skills required for success in professional truck driving. This role requires the ability to provide clear coaching constructive feedback and honest evaluations to support driver growth and development.

This role supports multiple stages of driver development including in-yard training road instruction coaching and driver evaluations.

Key Accountabilities:

• Conduct driving and instructional lessons across various stages of the Professional Driver Program

• Evaluate driver progress and provide coaching constructive feedback and honest performance evaluations

• Complete Driver Training Program performance report cards and progressive road tests

• Deliver training under the Fleet Safety Excellence program including fleet safety practices SOPs DVIR procedures and company policies

• Support driver refresher training and retraining programs

• Participate in prospective driver candidate interviews and road tests for new hires

• Provide ongoing support in the development and improvement of the driver training curriculum

• Assist with department training initiatives and safety refreshers as required

• Support evaluations and re-certification for existing drivers when required

• Provide strong mentorship and leadership among new and developing drivers

• Support practical on-road training including LCV/B-Train operations where applicable

What Youll Bring:

• Valid AZ / Class 1 License

• Minimum 5-10 years of verifiable commercial driving experience

• Strong safety mindset with a proven professional driving record

• Ability to coach mentor and evaluate drivers effectively

• Knowledge of Hours of Service regulations CVOR compliance and fleet safety best practices

• Previous training or leadership experience considered an asset

• LCV / B-Train experience considered an asset ($2 premium included for LCV driving experience)

• Proficient with MS Office Excel Outlook Email

• Understanding of ELD system of record and telematics reporting

Schedule: Monday- Friday day shifts with some weekend coverage as needed.
