ID: Shift: Night 3x12-Hour (19:00 - 07:00) Description: 1st Timer / Palliative Care 11th FL- D/N or N - AO / 5/18 START DATEPalliative care focuses on providing relief from the side effects of serious illness. This will not only be a place for some patients to receive end-of-life comfort care but we ll also be providing symptom management for patients still under treatment uncontrolled pain severe nausea/vomiting failure to thrive fatigue etc. for a better quality of life. The ideal candidates are med surg nurse that want to enhance their palliative care skills while also seeing other high acuity med surg units via floating.*New unit that will open on 7/1. Travelers who start prior to this date will be floating to inpatient units until their training is complete. This will be good experience to see the various patient populations they will be receiving once unit is required: BLSRequirements Minimum 2 Years RN experience required Certs: BLS Required to float within units of equivalent or lower level of acuity. PREVIOUS TRAVEL EXPERIENCE PREFERRED! EPIC EXPERIENCE REQUIRED!!*If you accept a 12D/N rotating contract you may be scheduled for days nights or a combination of both depending on the department s needs. Shift assignments are reviewed every 4-week scheduling period but changes are not guaranteed and are based on staffing priorities at that time. As a newly established unit the focus is on delivering high-quality patient-centered care with an emphasis on comfort dignity and symptom management. The primary goal of the unit is to support patients experiencing advanced illness or imminent end of life by managing pain and other distressing symptoms while also addressing emotional and psychosocial needs. Special Procedures/Unit Details : - Special Equipment : Due to the nature of the unit- RN must have exp with Pharmacologic/non-pharmacological pain interventions and Equianalgesic dosing of opioids #Tier4 Travel Compliance There is a strict compliance deadline of Tuesday prior to start no exceptions. Please screen for any candidate vacation time taking place immediately after booking as this will likely cause a push due to fingerprinting delays. Please only submit to one location. The AM team will find the best fit for the clinician. PLEASE NOTE: ALL CANDIDATES MUST BE MADE AWARE OF THE URGENCY OF THE OHIO FINGERPRINTING PROCESS. Candidate must complete fingerprints as soon as they sign contract. TRAVELERS WHO ARE UNRESPONSIVE OR UNCOOPERATIVE WITH CREDENTIALING ARE AT RISK OF PUSH/CANCEL. All candidates who are currently outside the state of Ohio but within driving distance will be required to drive to a fingerprinting location in Ohio as soon as possible after booking. Travelers who are extreme distances from Ohio will be mailed a fingerprinting packet which is to be completed urgently upon receipt. Detailed instructions will be sent to the candidate by the Credentialing team. RTO required with submission must be built into contract Locals are accepted at the same rate Reference Requirements: 2 professional references are required. At least 1 reference must be from a manager/director or someone in a formal leadership capacity (e.g. a supervisor). Charge RN acceptable for 2nd reference. No coworker references accepted. Former employees are eligible for a travel assignment once they have been away from the facility for 6 months or more Current employees are ineligible to be hired as a traveler at any Ohio State University hospital location RNs- must have valid compact or state license in hand at time of submission. MRI techs - submittals without OH license are acceptable. Education must be from an ACEN or CCNE accredited program.
