The Ace Consulting Group is partnering with one of our valued clients a well-established manufacturing company in Northbrook Illinois seeking an experienced Tool & Die Maker to join their tool room team. This Tool & Die Maker role focuses on maintaining repairing and building tooling used in manufacturing operations. The Tool & Die Maker will work primarily on tooling repair die maintenance and precision machining within the tool room.

This Tool & Die Maker position is ideal for a skilled machinist or toolmaker who enjoys working with precision tooling and supporting manufacturing operations.

Key Responsibilities

Set up and operate tool room machinery including grinders lathes and mills
Disassemble inspect repair and sharpen dies according to specifications
Assemble dies and sub-assemblies based on blueprints and engineering drawings
Perform inspections of parts produced from tooling to ensure quality standards are met
Maintain tool room equipment and complete documentation as required
Troubleshoot tooling issues and perform preventative maintenance
Support production teams by ensuring tooling is maintained and ready for operation
Follow safety procedures and maintain a clean and organized tool room environment

What You Bring

Minimum of 3 years of Tool & Die Maker experience
Experience working in a manufacturing tool room environment
Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings
Experience using precision measuring equipment and inspection tools
TMA certificate or equivalent training preferred
Experience with manual machining equipment including mills lathes and grinders
CNC machining experience or reverse engineering experience is a plus
Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize work effectively

Schedule & Pay

Shift: 1st Shift 6:00 AM 2:30 PM
Location: Chicago Illinois
Pay: $28 $38 per hour
Type: Direct Hire
