Employment Lawyer Associate/Senior Associate
Description:
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an ambitious and technically skilled Employment Lawyer to join a leading Employment practice in the Channel Islands. This role offers the chance to work with a dynamic team of legal professionals advising on a wide range of employment law matters and contributing to the growth of a market-leading practice. Based in either Guernsey or Jersey this position is ideal for a driven individual looking to take the next step in their legal career.

The Role:
As an Employment Lawyer you will:
- Advise on a broad spectrum of employment law matters including employer rights and duties contractual documentation policies business licensing housing and immigration.
- Provide support to corporate teams with due diligence and transaction-related matters.
- Represent clients in local Employment & Discrimination Tribunals including conducting advocacy for interim and final hearings.
- Draft pleadings witness statements skeleton arguments and agreements.
- Conduct legal research and maintain up-to-date knowledge of employment law.
- Build and maintain strong client relationships contributing to the development of the practice.
- Participate in thought leadership initiatives including conferences seminars and client presentations.
- Collaborate with colleagues across the firm to deliver exceptional client service.
The Person:
The ideal candidate will have:
- A qualification as a UK barrister or solicitor with 36 years PQE primarily in employment law.
- Proven experience in advocacy including cross-examination and presenting cases at tribunal level.
- Strong technical knowledge of employment law with a focus on financial services clients.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- A proactive ambitious and commercially driven mindset.
- The ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and support colleagues.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and legal systems.
- Experience in Guernsey and/or Jersey jurisdictions or familiarity with offshore financial services (preferred but not essential).
