This role is part of the Blue Origin Engines business unit where our focus is the design development manufacturing and testing of engines and propulsion systems. Built for multiple uses our family of engines is powering the next generation of rockets for commercial civil national security and human spaceflight.As part of a small passionate and accomplished team of test engineers and technicians you will testoperate andmaintaina wide variety of specialized engine components and ground support systems. You will lead in the development and safe execution of test operations and maintenance procedures. This includes test planning procedure authoring technical data reviewsidentifyingnon-conformances troubleshooting and performing on-console operations. Togetherwellalso push the boundaries of AI use in design fabrication and operations. This position will directlyimpactthe future of Blue Origin and will require your dedicated commitment and detailed attention towards safe and repeatable operations.
Job Responsibilities:
Execute test operations for test articles and componentsin accordance withprogram requirements and safety protocols
Develop review and refine test procedures to ensure thorough andaccuratetest execution
Support test facility planning build-up and upgrades to meet evolving program needs
Perform routine and corrective maintenance on test facilities and launch pad infrastructure
Analyze and review test data toidentifyanomaliesvalidateperformance and document results
Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams to define testobjectivesand acceptance criteria
Operate andmonitordata acquisition systems and instrumentation during test campaigns
Troubleshoot test article integration issues and support root cause analysis for anomalies
Maintainaccuratetest logs reports and documentation in compliance with engineering standards
Contribute to continuous improvement of test processes procedures and facility capabilities
Support hazardous operations including handling of cryogenic propellants and high-pressure systems in compliance with safety requirements
Minimum Qualifications:
B.S. Degree in Mechanical Aerospace Computer or Electrical Engineering
5 years of experience in a testing environment
Demonstrated familiarity with data analysis
Demonstrated ability to lead projects and work independently
Strong technical fundamentals in fluids and thermodynamics
Ability to read and interpret engineering standards technicalrequirementsand engineering drawings
Preferred Qualifications:
M.S. or Ph.D. in Mechanical Aerospace Computer or Electrical Engineering with experimental lab experience
Rocketry experience through internships or club activities
Cryogenic experience
Experience designingfabricatingoroperatingfluid systems
Knowledge of instrumentation including pressure transducers thermocouples silicon diodes resistance temperaturedetectorsand accelerometers
Operational understanding of engines and engine sub-components such as turbopumps combustion devicesvalvesand other fluid components
Hands-on experience with integrating test articles and sub-assemblies for test
Familiarity with LabVIEW MATLABWinplot or other control/data acquisition and reduction software
Familiarity with CAD applications (Creo preferred)
