The Department of Physical Therapy is currently seeking a part time Physical Therapist 4 to work in Plantation FL. The Physical Therapist 4 provides effective and efficient rehabilitation services to patients and clients in accordance with the APTA guidelines for physical therapy. The Physical Therapist 4 collaborates with healthcare teams that include physicians occupational therapists and psychologists. This role may train mentor and oversee lower level Physical Therapist incumbents.

CORE JOB FUNCTIONS
1. Performs evaluations of new patients to include the establishment of goals and appropriate treatment plans.
2. Progresses patients through different levels of treatment within the patients maximum capabilities.
3. Documents all evaluations treatments and other pertinent patient interactions.
4. Provides relevant education to patients and families regarding medical conditions.
5. Maintains effective communication with all members of the rehabilitation team.
6. Communicates with physicians and their staff to obtain additional information and suggests revisions in treatment.
7. Participates in quality and safety improvement activities.
8. Orients instructs and directs work activities for assistants and support personnel.
9. Supervises and instructs physical therapy students according to professional guidelines.
10. Provides or participates in educational programs for staff patients and the community at large.
11. Represents the University at non-departmental conferences and seminars.
12. Uses high-level knowledge of the principles to develop and modify effective assessments and treatment plans.
13. Adheres to University and unit-level policies and procedures and safeguards University assets.

CORE QUALIFICATIONS
Masters degree in relevant field required
Minimum 7 years of relevant experience required
Valid State of Florida Physical Therapist license required
