International Payroll Specialist- German Speaker

Contract Type: Fixed term (July/August 2026 > December 2027)

We are looking for an International Payroll Specialist- German Speaker!
Join our dedicated international payroll team and play a key role in delivering accurate compliant and timely payroll across multiple this role youll primarily support payroll operations for Germany Austria & Switzerland partnering closely with external payroll providers and internal stakeholders.

This position is Hybrid in Europe. Preferably Germany but other locations where IDEXX operates are possible.

What Youll Do

• Process audit and reconcile international payrolls ensuring accuracy compliance and on-time delivery
• Partner with external payroll providers and internal stakeholders to ensure timely and accurate payroll reporting
• Coordinate payroll approval & payment instructions with the Finance team
• Prepare monthly payroll GL journal accrual reports and month-end closing reporting activities
• Ensure compliance with statutory regulations collective labor agreements and company policies
• Respond to payroll-related employee inquiries
• Support internal and external audits
• Provide payroll data and insights to support HR and cross-functional projects

What You Will Need To Succeed

• 3 years of experience in an international payroll or payroll/accounting environment
• Hands-on experience processing European payrolls with strong knowledge of payroll regulations compliance and tax laws
• Strong expertise in German payroll and labor law
• Experience working with outsourced payroll providers
• Proven ability to manage internal and external stakeholders
• Ability to work independently accurately and meet tight deadlines
• Fluency in German and English (written and verbal)
• Strong ownership mindset and accountability for payroll processes
• Advanced Excel skills (XLOOKUP/VLOOKUP Pivot Tables macros etc.)
• Ability to manage shifting priorities and solve problems effectively
• Willingness to learn adapt and give/receive feedback constructively.
