Paralegal

Location: Hybrid - Birkirkara Malta (3 days per week in office)
Reporting to: CLO

Key Responsibilities

• Provide real-time guidance to internal teams acting as the primary point of contact for office legal matters.

• Lead all interactions with local authorities and oversee visa issuances work permits and contractor engagements.

• Review and negotiate commercial and employment contracts ensuring strict compliance with Maltese law EU directives and corporate standards.

• Conduct deep-dive legal research into complex issues and deliver concrete answers/solutions rather than just raw data.

• Manage daily compliance tasks including AML/KYC checks and the integration of background check software to automate onboarding processes.

• Manage the full document flow from preparation and signature coordination to filing and archiving acting as an assertive chaser to ensure no bottlenecks occur.

What You Bring

• Proven experience as a Paralegal or within a legal team in FinTech Payments or iGaming. Consulting/Auditing experience for iGaming clients is highly valued.

• Expert-level knowledge of Maltese Employment Law and must have a track record of contacting and managing relationships with local government departments.

• Native or professional fluency in Maltese and English is mandatory for navigating local documentation and government liaison.

• Experience with compliance and background check software to replace manual workflows.

• Assertive proactive and capable of managing up to ensure managers return documents and meet deadlines.

• Law Degree or equivalent degree

• Experience in scale-up environments where work volume and regulations shift rapidly
