On July 1 2025 IPL Plastics merged with Schoeller Allibert to form IPL Schoeller (the company). The Companys operations are split across North America (11 manufacturing plants) and Europe (16 manufacturing plants).

The role

Responsible for managing and driving site operations in the most efficient cost effective and safest manner possible whilst delivering high standards to our customers.

A strong focus and emphasis are key and a fundamental part of the role:

  • Implementation and maintenance of all BRCGS requirements

  • HACCP HSHE Quality Management Control and legality

  • Budgetary and cost control

  • Continuous improvement initiatives

  • High level of Customer Service

The role will be based in Daventry Northampton. Hours of work will vary between 8am - 4pm or 9am - 5pm Monday to Friday.

As a Depot Manager for Logtek Ltd (part of IPL) you will:

Main Duties:

  • To meet/exceed KPI targets and to oversee all aspects of operations

  • Responsible for applying the BRCGS requirements through the understanding of the Standard Operating Procedures SSOW prescribed templates and checklists

  • As the HACCP Leader ensure that all aspects of product quality safety security and legality are maintained within the operation through the prerequisite programs and resulting control points and critical control points identified through the HACCP study

  • Develop excellent relationships with customers 3rd Party and the supply chain

  • Work with the Equipment Control Team to ensure that Asset Management protocols and procedures are accurately administered and maintained

  • Ensure that the Depot function effectively supports the implementation of HSE Hygiene and HR policies/procedures

What you will bring to the role:

Education & Qualifications

Essential:

  • Educated to GCSE Level or equivalent in Maths and English

  • Microsoft Excel/Word (Intermediate Level)

  • Microsoft Outlook (email)

Desirable:

  • Educated to A level standard or equivalent

  • Microsoft Excel (Advanced)

  • ILM (Level 3 or 5)

Personal Attributes & Experience

  • Confident and smart with a professional style approach and appearance

  • Experience working in Retail Logistics or a Manufacturing industry is desirable

  • Qualification in the understanding of the HACCP principles

  • Understanding of the BRCGS Storage & Distribution requirements

  • Root cause analysis with the ability to understand and complete a Risk Assessment and create an Safe Systems of Work (SSOW)

  • A conscientious and highly motivated self-starter with can do attitude and ability to prioritise

  • A natural ability to inspire lead and develop employees

  • Experience working as an effective Manager within a busy 24/7 fast paced operational environment

  • A full clean driving license

Skills & Acknowledge

  • Effective communication skills oral and written

  • Excellent Customer Service and interpersonal skills

  • Effective presentation skills - prepare and deliver in a clear and confident manner

  • Good understanding and knowledge of HSHE management and legislation

  • Budgetary control working on an open book contract basis

  • Understand budget and cost control methods - financial impact to the business and customer

  • Inspire influence lead and develop the team to engage and deliver

  • Manage KPI reporting with associated commentary and analysis

  • Quality control and continuous process improvement management

  • Good understanding of HR best practices:

    • Manage/conduct employee performance and absence management lawfully

    • Manage/conduct grievances and disciplinary matters lawfully

    • Manage employee performance

Desirable:

  • HSHE legislation knowledge and experience in:

    • Accident prevention/investigation

    • Safe Systems of Work

    • Risk Assessments

    • RIDDOR Reporting
