About the Role

Were looking for a Senior Software Engineer to join our Data Acquisition this role youll help build and maintain the software that powers our realtime sports data products ensuring accuracy reliability and speed. Youll work closely with engineers data specialists and Client Services to deliver highquality solutions that keep our data flowing at scale.

What Youll Do:

In this role youll take ownership of key responsibilities that help drive team and business success. Your daytoday will include:

• Developing testing and deploying highquality software that processes data from diverse sources.

• Building improving and maintaining distributed systems and data pipelines (including Kafka-based services).

• Deploying and supporting containerised workloads running in Kubernetes environments.

• Creating and maintaining clear accurate documentation for the systems you build.

• Validating and monitoring data quality using internal tools and processes.

• Supporting datagathering workflows including those involving webscraping or automated data acquisition.

• Investigating and resolving datarelated issues escalated from the Client Services team.

• Participating in an outofhours oncall rotation to support critical data acquisition systems.

• Sharing knowledge widely and contributing to a positive collaborative team culture.

• Mentoring junior engineers and helping raise the overall technical bar.

What Youll Bring:

Were looking for someone with the skills experience and mindset to thrive in this role. Ideally youll have:

• Strong experience with at least one core programming language (e.g. Python Java Scala).

• Hands-on experience with Kubernetes container orchestration and Docker.

• Experience working with distributed systems and eventdriven technologies (e.g. Kafka).

• Solid understanding of networking fundamentals (HTTP APIs).

• Experience with relational and NoSQL databases.

• Strong Git skills and familiarity with modern development practices (code reviews testing CI/CD).

• Comfort working in a Linux/Unix command-line environment.

• Experience designing and debugging software from inception to deployment.

• Excellent problemsolving skills and a proactive approach to improving systems and processes.

• Strong communication and collaboration skills and the ability to work effectively across teams.

Nice to Have (Not required but a bonus)

• Experience in sports data betting tech or largescale data pipelines.

• Familiarity with webscraping frameworks (e.g. Playwright Selenium).

• Interest in using AIassisted development tools.
