Location: Northern Region - Sheffield / Leeds / Manchester
Salary: Competitive
Contract Type: Permanent
Working Hours: 40 hours per week Monday-Friday
We are looking for an experienced Arboricultural Consultant to join our growing Northern team supporting a wide range of infrastructure planning and development projects across the region with occasional work in Scotland.
This is a varied and technically rewarding role for a confident consultant who enjoys being out in the field solving real-world arboricultural challenges and delivering high-quality professional advice that directly influences development outcomes.
You will be part of a well-structured consultancy team led by experienced senior staff with strong support clear direction and genuine opportunities for professional growth.
What youll do;
You will take ownership of arboricultural surveys and consultancy work across a diverse portfolio of projects including infrastructure utilities and planning-led developments.
Work will include:
BS5837:2012 surveys for planning and development
Visual Tree Assessments (VTA) and condition inspections
Technical report writing and arboricultural recommendations
Tree protection advice during construction projects
Site-based supervision of arboricultural works
Liaison with clients engineers planners and contractors
Input into infrastructure schemes and environmental constraints
This is a hands-on consultancy role where your decisions and recommendations will directly shape development outcomes.

What were looking for:
Minimum 5 years arboricultural consultancy/surveying experience
NVQ Level 4 (or equivalent/higher) in Arboriculture & Forestry
LANTRA Professional Tree Inspection qualification
Strong experience in BS5837:2012 surveys and development work
Proven ability in Visual Tree Assessment (VTA)
Excellent technical report writing skills
Full UK driving licence (clean)
CSCS and/or ROLO certification
Strong IT skills including tree/survey software
Solid understanding of tree works and specifications
Ability to manage workload and projects independently
