A secondary school in Liverpool is looking to appoint a knowledgeable Computer Science Teacher from September. This position offers the opportunity to deliver a subject that continues to grow in popularity with increasing student interest in computing coding and digital technologies.

Computer Science is viewed as a valuable subject within the curriculum and the department continues to develop its provision to support modern digital learning.


About the Role

You will deliver Computer Science lessons across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4 teaching students core computing concepts such as programming algorithms data representation and cybersecurity fundamentals.

Lessons should encourage problem-solving logical thinking and digital creativity. Students are introduced to programming languages and encouraged to apply their knowledge through structured coding activities and project-based learning.

Where appropriate there may also be opportunities to contribute to Key Stage 5 teaching particularly for candidates with experience delivering A-Level Computer Science.


Key Responsibilities

Your role will involve both classroom teaching and contributing to the wider development of the subject within the school.

Daily responsibilities include:

  • Planning and delivering Computer Science lessons

  • Teaching programming concepts using structured methods

  • Supporting students in developing computational thinking skills

  • Assessing progress through coursework and formal assessment

  • Supporting students preparing for GCSE examinations

  • Maintaining classroom equipment and digital resources

You will also collaborate with colleagues to ensure consistency in curriculum delivery across year groups.
