Job Summary
Position Title: Day Program Manager Adults with Developmental Disabilities Program
FTE/Classification: Full-Time/Non-Exempt
Location: Paramus NJ
Hours: Monday through Friday (8:00am to 4:00pm)
Primary Function: Responsible for the day-to-day management of the Day Program in Paramus NJ. The Day Program supports individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorder and other developmental disabilities in development of skills needed for greater independent functioning and community integration.
Essential Functions include:
1. Work with Program Director to establish measureable objectives and strategies to ensure each persons program is based around their individual service plan (ISP) outcomes
2. Develop and ensure your site staff consistently implement strategies set forth in the individual service plan
3. Responsible for supervision and training of staff at the site
4. Ensure that all DDD and Friendship House policy and procedures are followed consistently
5. Provide oversite and final approval of structured and meaningful program activity schedule(s) per week. Offer ideas or training materials for implementation if needed.
6. Prepare for and lead member groups to facilitate positive outcomes as needed
7. Teach/reinforce proper implementation of ISP strategies
8. Update and maintain the At a Glance Book for your site. Ensure all staff are made aware of any strategy changes
9. Ensure that staff/member ratios are maintained at all times in the community
10. Ensure that the trip log is utilized consistently by all staff when out in the community and all prescribed medications are available both on site and in the community.
11. Maintain good working relationships with family members Support Coordinators transportation providers and other community resources ie: internship placements local businesses etc.
12. Oversight of daily documentation on each member and ensure documentation is meaningful and related to their ISP outcomes
13. Notify Program Coordinator/Behaviorist of any change in member behaviors concerns or progress
14. Schedule monthly staff meetings
15. Attend and participate in supervisor meetings with Executive Director of Day and Community Services
16. Coordinate with the facility to remain up-to-date on emergency procedures and train your staff accordingly
17. Maintain petty cash account including weekly reconciliations
18. Communicate with finance department to ensure that staff hours are appropriately recorded
19. Work with Program Director/Behaviorist on annual progress reports for each member
20. Maintain supply inventory and order replenishments as needed
21. Oversee that all program members records and medications are kept in a secure cabinet.
22. Drive up to a 15 passenger van to and from community activities as needed
23. Other duties as assigned by the Executive Director of Day and Community Services or Director of Day and Community Services
Requirements:
Bachelors degree from an accredited college in Human Services or related field required
Minimum one (1) year experience working with individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorders
Experience with behaviors
Minimum Three (3) years supervisory experience
Demonstrated experience in supervision of direct support professionals
Registered Behavior Technician preferred
Valid drivers license with clean record.
Minimum 21 years of age
