The Billing Clerk is responsible for generating invoices processing payments maintaining billing records and supporting the accounting department. This role ensures accurate billing practices and timely collection of payments to support the organizations financial operations.
Tasks
Key Responsibilities
Prepare and issue invoices to customers
Verify billing data and correct discrepancies
Process customer payments (cash checks electronic transfers)
Maintain accurate financial records and billing files
Reconcile accounts receivable balances
Communicate with customers regarding billing questions or issues
Follow up on outstanding invoices and late payments
Prepare billing reports for management
Assist with month-end closing procedures
Ensure compliance with company policies and financial regulations
Requirements
Required Skills & Qualifications
Education:
High school diploma or equivalent (Associates degree in Accounting or Finance preferred)
Experience:
12 years of billing accounting or administrative experience preferred
Skills:
Basic knowledge of accounting principles
Proficiency in accounting software (e.g. QuickBooks SAP Microsoft Excel)
Strong attention to detail and accuracy
Good organizational and time management skills
Strong communication skills
Ability to handle confidential information
Working Conditions
Office environment
Full-time or part-time positions available
